Message from the CEO: Our Commitment

Published 25 March 2026

Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer, Advisory Board Centre

2026 is already a landmark year for the Advisory Board Centre and its global community. It is a pleasure to lead our community of leaders in this growing landscape of democratised advice.

As the external landscape changes, so must we. In my role as Executive Director and CEO, I am acutely aware we cannot be complacent – neither as a sector nor as an organisation. I am committed to ensuring we challenge our model, systems and in some ways reinvent ourselves to remain effective and resilient.
Thank you to all who completed our member survey recently. This information has been invaluable. During the last 3 months, we have been integrating as much of this insight as we can. Thanks to your input, there has been a lot of activity behind the scenes to lay the foundations to prepare ourselves for the next stage of the development of this sector.

Below are some initial initiatives I would like to share with you.

Market Opportunity: Two Key Challenges Advisors are Facing

We hear two key themes emerging from our community:

1. Creating new opportunities is especially important for members who are new to this sector.

2. Managing conflicts of interest with multiple opportunities are challenging for experienced and busy advisors.

Advisory+ is the support and peer service provided to you to manage your portfolio. As an independent provider and leaders in best practice, we support members in many ways including educating potential clients about the power of advisory boards, talent sourcing and supporting the establishment of boards, and best practice reviews. As this service offering grows, it has a flow-on effect for advisors in our community. You will be hearing more about Advisory+ soon.

Our Commitment to Research and Development

The heart of our professional organisation is sector research and development. In May, the release of the largest global study to date on Rates and Engagement will be released. This is an exclusive report, which will be followed with discussion groups across regions to enable local context and considerations in the way you engage in the market.

Whether you are an emerging Advisory Board Professional or undertake the role of the Chair, Advisor, Sponsor or Secretariat, this is a cornerstone report that provides insights and context exclusively for members of the Advisory Board Centre.
The ABF101: Advisory Board Best Practice Framework and the Code of Ethics biennial reviews have also commenced. I encourage you to participate in the review process and contribute to best practice for everyone. Your opinion matters.

Thank you

Lastly, thank you from both Louise Broekman, myself and the entire Advisory Board Centre team. We value your commitment as we continue to advance best practice journey together.
