Advisors sound warning bells for businesses to focus on Customer Experience

According to the latest edition of The Quarterly, 2018 may just be dubbed the “Year of Choice”. Consumers, constrained by low wage growth and tight lending conditions, are more willing to exercise their power of choice regarding  expenditure.  And businesses can choose to actively confront changing trading conditions with significant planning, well-timed action and careful resourcing to ensure growth and profitability.

Managing Director Louise Broekman released the report at the Advisory Board Centre retreat which included a meeting of leading Australian business Advisors and industry experts.  Broekman was clear on the impact of the research for Australian businesses.

The results of the National Advisor Survey demonstrate that businesses across all industries are concerned with the impact of external market power, which is an indicator of lagging consumer confidence and market fatigue. This concern has brought to the forefront a clear mandate for businesses to focus on the customer experience with careful attention to planning and executing sales and growth strategies.”

The quarterly National Advisor Survey undertaken by the Advisory Board Centre identified three key levers to build internal confidence:

  1. Customer Experience
  2. Time for Strategic Thinking
  3. Careful Resourcing

Each quarter the Advisory Board Centre conducts the National Advisor Survey to identify the  market outlook and overall trends for Australian organisations with a specific focus on providing entrepreneurs with a new line of sight into their business.  Research results and commentary from Australia’s leading advisors to the entrepreneur sector are included in The Quarterly report.
