The Advisory Board Centre was founded to support and improve the effectiveness of the global Advisory Board sector, including the professionals who fulfil an Advisory function and organisations for whom they serve.
Our Advisory community includes Chairs and Advisors who are selected, certified and recognised for their unique leadership capabilities and acumen. Our Business community includes start-up and scale-up businesses, through to growing companies, non-profits and corporate organisations.
As Chair of the Advisory Board Centre, Udo Doring is responsible for driving thought leadership for the future development of the Advisory sector globally. Udo is also the CEO and President of the Australian Pathway Education Group (APEG) based in Shanghai, a subsidiary of Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. The group focuses on providing education outcomes in China, as well as identifying investment opportunities across the region.
Prior to joining APEG, Udo was the CEO and Executive Director of The Australian Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai. Udo led a team of 20 staff across four departments to drive the Chamber’s mission to strengthen Australia-China business, government and relationships. Under Udo’s leadership, AustCham Shanghai tripled its revenue, expanded its services, grew membership and supported a rapidly changing landscape for Australian businesses working in China.
Before joining the Chamber, Udo worked in a number of roles in business strategy and human resources consulting, as well as spending time in London with the Queensland Government’s Trade and Investment office. He holds an Executive MBA from Saïd Business School at Oxford University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the Queensland University of Technology and a Graduate Certificate of Chinese Law from Hong Kong City and Murdoch Universities.
Louise is an award-winning Entrepreneur, researcher and business advisor. Louise has received recognition from Industry and Government at a local and national level for her contribution to the Australian business sector. In 2004, Louise established an Advisory Board for her own business which has provided her with first-hand experience in how a well run Advisory Board can positively impact CEOs. Since 2012, Louise has served as Chair for commercial Advisory Boards. She is an in-demand speaker and is regularly called upon as the leading voice for Advisory Boards in the Asia Pacific region.
Penny has more than 25 years of experience gained from a variety of professional roles working in the UK, Europe and Australia including Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and Hays Recruitment.
Penny’s role is to support, engage with, represent and drive value for Advisory Board Members, build strong external stakeholder relationships and add value to the Advisory Board sector. Penny has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and a Bachelor of Arts.
Bernard is an Advisor on our Advisory Board and a founding member of the Advisory Board Centre as a Certified Chair. He chairs several Advisory Boards and has extensive experience as a Company Director and Board Member for organisations including Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority and Crèche & Kindergarten Association Ltd. Bernard is a Business Services Partner and Chartered Accountant with BDO.
